The 2Kr. - green -

The green 2 Kreuzer was the first newspaper revenue. It has been issued in March 1st 1853 and was common to all the empire territory (as it was happening for all the various newspaper stamps). Its facial value was 2 Kr.("Carantani"), equivalent to the Lombardy-Venetia 10 centesimi. Therefore the pieces, when new, are the same as for the Austrian collection while the used are assigned to Lombardy-Venetia when the cancellation is very identifiable. I invite you to go to the general introduction for the technical notes. This revenue stamp was valid up to October 31st 1858.
Between the main varieties we find the offsets and the group inter-spaces.

Two separate sub-types do exist of this stamp. They differ for some drawing particular easy to be recognized: here they are in detail (the first sub-type is rarer than the second one):

1st TYPE: "Z" of "ZEITUNGS" usual and detached from the upper frame; "O" of "KON" perfectly regular; the ball kept in the eagle right paw is almost touching the wing of the eagle itself (Fig. 1).

2nd TYPE:
small color dot over the "Z" of "ZEITUNGS", that sometimes connects this letter to the upper frame; small color dot attached to the right side of "O' of "KON"; the ball kept in the eagle right paw is clearly detached from the eagle wing (Fig. 2).
